‘Bloody hell,’ DI Painter said as they walked down the corridor from the morgue.

Harrison was fast coming to realise that bloody hell was Painter’s favourite expression.

‘I had Dax and Summer down as a couple, despite what she’d said. Now we’ve got to find his boyfriend which could open this up to a whole new community and motive. But then where does Summer fit in? Unless Dax swung both ways?’

‘Always possible, but maybe they were just friends and co-protestors.’

‘Well let’s get straight round to her house and see what we can find. We need to work out why she ended up in those woods so early in the morning. She had to be meeting someone she knew. Surely no woman would be foolish enough to meet a stranger in the darkness in remote woodland?’

‘I agree.’

‘Then we need to go and see Patrick Sheldon. I’m going to get the team to speak to the gay community and see if they know anything. If there’s a gay Viking fanatic out there, then they might know who he is, or at least who Dax might have been seeing. This case gets more complicated by the minute and my retirement clock is ticking.’
